Shaun McEntire was born in Richmond, Kentucky on August 26, 1971. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Berea College and her law degree from the University of Louisville. She is licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and Indiana.

The McEntires moved to Madisonville in 2000 and Shaun was in private practice with Robert P. Moore. She has also worked with the Department of Public Advocacy, was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney and has served as a staff attorney for Circuit Judges Charles W. Boteler, Edwin White and John Atkins. She has been with the Hopkins County Attorney’s Office since January, 2007, where she serves the citizens of Hopkins County as the prosecutor for Family Court and as the Director of the Hopkins County Child Support Unit.

Under her leadership, the Child Support Unit has been recognized by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the past four (4) years, receiving Outstanding Performance Awards for 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Shaun is currently a member of the Rotary Club, the Model Courts Team for Hopkins County, the Truancy Diversion Program that is being started at Browning Springs Middle School as well as St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

She is married to Dr. Brent McEntire, a physician at Baptist Health, and they reside in Madisonville with their daughter.
